Of course, you can also throw in the idea of "find the gem inside the statue that is hidden behind a canvas that can only be burned by combining a candle, a can of lighter fluid, and an arcane emblem in order to unlock the next door" that's so pervasive within the survival/horror genre. I love those scary games, but that particular chore can be quite frustrating, too.
