Rock Band 2's song list boasts a variety of bands from several decades of music, from the 1960's to the present. Similar to the original Rock Band, the game's developers will be using only the original, master recordings of the songs. The official song list, as announced by MTV and Harmonix, is as follows:

Other Opportunities for Music
Rock Band 2's set list includes 84 songs in all. However, players will not only be limited to these songs. In another recent announcement, MTV and Harmonix confirmed that gamers will be able to export songs from the original Rock Band to Rock Band 2 (provided they own both games).
Perhaps more impressively, MTV and Harmonix claim that nearly 500 songs will be playable for Rock Band 2 by year's end, when the many downloadable songs available through the companies' online service are taken into account.
Will Wii Owners Be Able to Download New Music?
This leaves one major question about Rock Band 2. Recently, Activision announced that the newest iteration in its popular Guitar Hero series, Guitar Hero World Tour, will support downloadable content for Nintendo Wii.
However, the recently released Rock Band for Wii did not support downloadable content. Instead, Wii gamers were left with Rock Band Track Pack Vol 1, which included a limited number of songs not available in the original Rock Band.
Thus, the big question surrounding Rock Band 2 is whether it will support downloadable content for Wii, allowing Wii gamers to also access the 500+ song library available to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners. Either way, Wii owners will certainly be able to play the songs listed above.
