The best reviewer for the LEGO Star Wars games is a true gaming fan. What do a young LEGO fan and his parents think of this series of games?

LEGO has mastered the art of cross-marketing with its Star Wars games. The games are the perfect compliment to the building kits available for Star Wars fans of all ages.

Why the LEGO Star Wars Games are Popular

According to a LEGO Star Wars gaming expert, the games are popular because they are funny in a lot of ways. Everything in them is made out of LEGOs.

Parents like them because they have the nostalgia factor for those who grew up watching the Star Wars movies. The violence level is also one that parents can live with. Instead of characters dying in the traditional sense like they do in most video games, the LEGO bricks get blown apart and scattered on the floor.

The Difference between LEGO Star Wars I and II

LEGO Star Wars II is based on the original Star Wars movies made in the 1970s and 1980s. LEGO Star Wars I is based on the newest Star Wars movies made in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Challenge Level

The game is easy for an experienced video game player. Though some levels prove to be more challenging for even the most adept gamers.

Fun Elements of the LEGO Star Wars Games

Since LEGO Star Wars is most popular with young gamers, here are some reasons the young gaming expert thinks it’s a cool game.

  • LEGO Star Wars II has special red bricks hidden in the levels for the gamer to find. Once found, the bricks unlock special cheats that then unlock attributes that make the game easier. Some of these attributes are invincibility, fast build, fast force and Super Ewok Cannons.
  • Players can buy a disguise which will give all their characters funny glasses, a giant nose and a funny mustache. Characters can pull a special lever to get a different helmet or hat. Han Solo can wear a storm trooper hat or another funny hat. The hats are too small for Chewbacca, so they just lean on top of his head.
  • Gamers can play as any of the characters that have been unlocked. The characters are replicas of the mini-figs that are available in the LEGO building kits. In LEGO Star Wars I, you can play as a battle droid, which is convenient when you are on a level that has you fighting battle droids. They won’t attack your droid, but you can still attack them.
  • LEGO Star Wars I starts with Quigon Jin and a young Obi Wan Kenobi. As you advance and complete levels, more characters are available. LEGO Star Wars II starts with Princess Leia and a Rebel Commander.

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga

The newest addition to the LEGO Star Wars series, The Complete Saga has more levels and fills in more of the movie story lines. It contains levels based on each of the six movies. The gamer can play as characters from LEGO Star Wars I in the Star Wars II levels and vice versa.

Coming Soon

LEGO is releasing a LEGO Indiana Jones game this summer. It goes along with the release of their Indiana Jones building kits and the new Indiana Jones movie that will be coming to theaters soon.

The LEGO Company has hit a homerun with its LEGO Star Wars series. They have created games that young gamers enjoy and that meet the approval of parents.

You can find LEGO Star Wars games at the LEGO website, Toys R Us, and any gaming store.
